Three Reasons Clients Like the NHS and Barclays Trust LGN With Critical Infrastructure

Manufacturer-Accredited Across Every Layer

LGN is an Excel partner. We also supply solutions from manufacturers including Draka, Connectix, Huber + Suhner, CommScope, Aruba, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti and Hikvision, selecting equipment to suit each project. Every copper and fibre run is fully certified.

Trusted With Critical National Infrastructure

Your project sits alongside work already delivered for the NHS, the BBC, HMRC, the Ministry of Defence and nuclear sites for EDF, where downtime and rework are not an option, so your network is in genuinely experienced hands.

One Contractor, From First Fix to Final Test

You avoid the coordination headache of managing multiple trades: LGN designs, installs, tests and certifies the cabling, integrates the connected systems and helps bring them live, then remains available through support contracts and fault-find-and-fix work.

LGN field engineer working on fibre optic equipment on site

Built by an Engineer Who Wanted Networks That Actually Work

LGN's founder, Lee Gallagher, was building his own computers and home networks by the age of 12, before studying Information Technology and working as a network consultant. Seeing how often poorly installed networks let down the mission-critical systems running on them led him to specialise in network design and installation, and to found LGN in June 2016.

A decade on, that same standard drives every job LGN takes on, from a single support call to a 3,000-point estate rollout for clients including the NHS, HMRC and the University of Manchester. Most of LGN's work is repeat custom from existing clients, and the company operates a zero-waste policy and sources from net-zero suppliers wherever it can.

Common questions

What areas does LGN cover?

LGN is based in the Northwest and delivers structured cabling projects across the UK, with occasional overseas assignments. Work includes data centres, distribution centres, offices, education and healthcare sites, and government and nuclear facilities.

What size of project can LGN take on?

Your project can be as small as a single fault-find and fix or as large as a multi-thousand-point estate rollout. LGN's projects have ranged from around 100 data points up to 3,000-plus, including full data centre fit-outs, so the size of your site is unlikely to be a problem.

What copper and fibre cabling standards do you work to?

Your network is installed to CPR and ISO standards (although we can supply TIA or EN standardised testing if preferred over ISO11801). Warranties are available on Excel network solutions for up to 25 years.

Which Wi-Fi and CCTV brands do you install?

You can choose from Aruba, Cisco Meraki or Ubiquiti for your wireless network, and Hikvision as standard for CCTV. If your business already standardises on a different manufacturer, LGN can source and install the appropriate products while keeping the manufacturer relationship clear.

Do you handle cable containment as well as the cabling itself?

Yes. LGN installs galvanised basket and tray, PVC and galvanised conduit and trunking, cabinets, waterproof and high-security enclosures, fibre raceways, dado trunking, power poles and floor boxes, so your containment and data needs are handled by one contractor rather than two.

How quickly can LGN turn a project around?

When it matters, LGN can move fast: during the Covid-19 pandemic, LGN installed an 1,800-point Cat6 copper network with associated diverse-route fibre links, cabinets and switching for a temporary emergency hospital, and turned the entire project around in five days.

What happens after installation, do you provide ongoing support?

Your network is not left to look after itself. LGN offers support contracts and fault-find-and-fix services after the initial installation, for businesses that want an ongoing point of contact rather than a one-off job.

How do I get a quote, and is there any obligation?

Getting a quote from LGN is free and there is no obligation to proceed. Call 0333 355 3636 or submit your requirements through the contact page and you will receive a free estimate before you commit to anything.
